The Laughing Matters Gala
Family Houston, now in our 120th year of service, continues strengthening financial stability for those with limited resources, providing basic needs support to the underserved, and reducing barriers to mental health access for all. We are thrilled to present the 2025 Laughing Matters Gala on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at The Revaire.
As May is Mental Health Awareness Month, this special evening will bring awareness to an important cause through community, celebration, fundraising, and laughter. Family Houston’s first-ever comedy gala will feature nationally recognized comedian and author Gary Gulman, known for his sold-out shows and comedy specials on Comedy Central, HBO, Max, and Netflix. Gulman’s work is both hilarious and inspiring, as he openly shares his struggles with anxiety and depression.
The event, chaired by Kim & David Pitts, will honor Community Service Awardees, the Joseph and Cathy Garcia-Prats Family, and Corporate Awardee, Anew Climate. These honorees have made significant contributions to improving the lives of others in our community through service, commitment, and leadership.
The success of the 2025 Laughing Matters Gala will help create pathways to healthier and more stable futures for the over 3,000 clients Family Houston serves annually. As we continue our century-spanning legacy, Family Houston remains dedicated to connecting people to resources, supporting veterans, providing mental health services, and offering financial coaching. Through a holistic approach, we empower our community to achieve their goals and build a stronger, more stable future.
