The Laughing Matters Gala
Family Houston, in our 120th year of service to our neighbors – strengthening financial stability for the resource-limited, providing basic needs support to the underserved, and reducing barriers to mental health access for all – is thrilled to present the Laughing Matters Gala on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at The Revaire.
As May is Mental Health Awareness Month, we aim to bring awareness to this important topic through a night of community, celebration, fundraising, and laughter. The debut of our first comedy night gala will feature a nationally televised comedian and author, Gary Gulman. Today, Gulman performs sold-out shows to audiences nationwide and is featured in four comedy specials on Comedy Central, HBO, Max, and Netflix. His comedic work is both hilarious and inspiring, revolving around his mental health challenges as he openly shares his struggles with anxiety and depression.
The event, chaired by Kim & David Pitts, will honor Community Service Awardees, the Garcia- Pratts Family. This year’s honorees have made significant contributions to improving the lives of others in our community through outstanding service, commitment, and leadership.
