Family Houston proudly stands with the brave men and women who have served in the Armed Forces. Through our Community Support programs, we provide veterans with emergency assistance for rent, utilities, and childcare—along with access to critical mental health counseling services.

This fall, we invite you to join us for our inaugural Strength in Service Breakfast, a morning of connection, gratitude, and giving back.

Isaac Johnson | Keynote Speaker

CEO & President, TDECU

Family Houston is honored to welcome Isaac Johnson, President & CEO of TDECU and Major General in the U.S. Army Reserve, as our keynote speaker.

Major General Johnson commands the U.S. Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command (Airborne) and has earned numerous military honors, including the Bronze Star and the Legion of Merit. In the private sector, he brings decades of leadership experience at TEDCU, USAA, Wells Fargo, and more.

Doug Hall | Panelist

Sr. Vice President & General Manager, Toyota Center

Doug Hall, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Toyota Center for the Houston Rockets, brings decades of leadership in sports and event management to the panel.

A U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Doug was the first employee hired by Toyota Center and led its opening. He later managed major Houston venues and events, including the NCAA Final Four and Super Bowl LI. A proud Houston native, he continues to champion veteran causes through Family Houston and Impact a Hero Foundation.

President, Elk Mountain Lumber

Jim Kelly, Senior Executive for Elk Mountain Lumber and U.S. Army veteran, joins the panel for Strength in Service.

Jim served as a Sniper with the 4th Infantry Division in Iraq before building a distinguished career leading multi-state operations in the lumber and logistics industry. He now serves as Chairman of the Veteran Leaders Forum and is a member of the Houston Chapter of YPO.

Aleshia Tripps | Panelist

Chief Program Officer, Family Houston

Aleshia Tripps is the Chief Program Officer at Family Houston, where she leads the Veteran Support Program and other community initiatives. While she has not served personally, she is deeply connected to the military through her father, two uncles, and grandfather, all of whom are veterans. 

Aleshia is passionate about helping veterans and their families find stability, strength, and hope through meaningful support. She is honored to join this panel and celebrate the men and women who have given so much in service to others.
