-
Program participants also reported 100% gains in financial literacy and career readiness, demonstrating the program’s impact in preparing youth for long-term success.
“The NBA Foundation’s partnership has allowed Family Houston to turn potential into real opportunity for the Houston community’s under-resourced youth — removing financial barriers through microgrants, opening doors to meaningful employment, and amplifying the voices of young people as leaders in their own economic futures,” said Ken Sheirr, President & CEO of Family Houston. “Together, we are not just preparing youth for the workforce; we are investing in their power to shape it.”
The program emphasizes individualized support, skill-building, and real-world workforce connections to help youth increase confidence, economic stability, and long-term career outcomes.
This project is part of Family Houston’s ongoing commitment to strengthening communities through accessible workforce development, financial stability support, and essential services for individuals and families facing economic hardship.
