Family Houston was recently awarded a $50,000 grant from The Cullen Trust for Health Care, marking the fifth year that the Trust has contributed to the organization. This grant will support Family Houston’s Counseling program, which works with children, adults, and families who are struggling with stress, depression, or other mental health illnesses. This generous grant will help Family Houston continue providing vital mental health services to clients, many of whom could not otherwise afford these services.

52% of Family Houston’s Counseling clients were living below the poverty line last year and are vulnerable community members. The difference that Family Houston clients are making in their lives can be seen in our outcomes. 76% of adult clients improved or maintained their hopefulness, and 69% improved or maintained their happiness.

Family Houston’s Vice President of Development, Liz Green, says “Family Houston is an essential part of the solution to the struggles our clients face. We are grateful to The Cullen Trust for Health Care for their support of Family Houston’s Counseling program, and we look forward to continue making positive change in this community together.”
